And you with an amazing and professional site, optimized for 100% mobile devices.

Create an awesome site today! It's easy and free! In today's video, I will talk to you about text styles.

I'll do a little presentation, take a Tubules for you, what are the text styles within the CorelDRAW.

If you've worked in a more thorough way, more advanced, publishers text, such as Word for example, I believe it is the most used and the most famous, you, probably already know what they are text styles.

I'll show you, how they work in CorelDRAW and what are the advantages that you can get by using text styles.

When you develop page layouts in CorelDRAW, you most likely work with large volumes of text.

Be in a document with a page or multiple pages.

Especially, if you create a project of a newsletter, a newspaper, a magazine.

Although, I strongly recommend that you do this in InDesign, you can also use CorelDRAW for this purpose.

From the moment you start working with large volumes of text, and you You need, of course, format the text in a specific way, to follow the style its design, to leave everything well, everything organized, it is extremely advisable that you start using text styles.

What they are, in fact, these text styles? The styles are nothing more than formatting sets.

It's like I said to CorelDRAW, how it should format text.

Look CorelDRAW, this text has to be blue, bold and underlined.

Ready! I saved this setting, I saved this set of information and style.

So I can easily apply this style to a text without repeat all formatting again.

Let me show you how that it works.

I will press the F8 to activate my text tool, and I click on the screen.

I will put here, three styles.

Style 1, of course you can use the text you want.

Style 2 and Style 3.

Ready! Here I will press the Ctrl and space to confirm the edition of this text.

AND press the F4, just for me to zoom in there, throughout the text.

I'll roll the mouse back here.

Then, of course, so here it is a text only.

Recalling that, according to the latest lessons you saw there last year, in 2014, we have an artistic text.

Which is different from text paragraph.

For me to separate this artistic text in each of the lines, I'll press the Ctrl + K on my keyboard.

And ready! All lines are single.

Then, look at us! I'll format it first style here, with bold, italic and the blue color.

Note that I applied a set of formatting.

Now, imagine if I need repeat this same set of formats, 10, 20, 50 pages in my layout, in my project.

Will give a damn job.

Of course, all this concern.

If suddenly your client, in the end, decides he does not want more blue, he wants red.

Here, there you go on every page, change the text, one at a time.

Well, come on! I will present the solution for you.

Then I will move here this second style.

I will put a Gotham Book in italics, with a magenta Fontinha here.

And the third style, I'll put a little crazy through source here.

Putting it to a size larger or less than 16.

And put here, the color green.

So, note that each of these sets formatting, give me a bit of work.

Give me some work, so I could leave them looking like this.

Text styles emerge, precisely to facilitate their work, make your life easier.

I will then save this formatting, this set of formatting in a style.

And, from there, I will be able to apply that style more easily, the any text block.

So, come on! Of course! I will select here, this text using the Selection tool.

For this, I just gave-click it to activate the tool and I selected.

And you can apply text styles a very easy, very simply.

Clicking on the selected text, right, selecting the Object Styles option, then New Style, and then character.

Note that for this type of object, we have two kinds of styles.

The style character, which will handle the formatting of the characters individually.

Also, the paragraph styles, which will format the entire text block, which is obviously formatted as paragraph text.

How is an artistic text, click here in character style option.

Here, I can set the name of my style.

I will put Here, Style 1.

And notice down here, he's showing me an option.

Open Window Snap Object Styles.

Beauty! I'll click on OK, it will already open the little window I need.

Then, look at that! In fact, the little window, she is already displayed here side.

She did not expand, because she was already engaged here in my side.

So this window object styles, and you can open it this way, when you create your first style in your project.

You can also find it on the Window menu, Snap windows, and here you is Object Styles.

The shortcut is Ctrl + F5.

We saw something like the style objects, there in class, that custom playlist.

Where, I showed you how They worked the color styles.

It works, in fact, a very similar way.

If you lost, take a sought in the channel, the custom playlist.

Then, look at us! From the moment I open a small window of object styles, note the Next, the style that I created is here, in my style gallery.

Note that I have here, styles sets, which is empty.

I can create other sets where I can set various style chains at once.

Or default object properties.

This guy right here is interesting.

That he is who controls the default formatting CorelDRAW documents.

For example, all text that I insert is Arial, size 24.

If I want to change this format, I can simply change here the artistic text, general format of this standard object style property.

This will make the formatting of my texts, starting the moment I enter new texts, he adopts the formatting that I set here.

But that's a topic for another class.

What is important for us, in fact, it is what we have up here in our briefcase custom styles.

I've created my first style.

When I select that style on the panel, it automatically displays the options that I formatted in advance here.

I will select Here, the second style, I will select it, click the right button, object styles, new style of character.

I'll put here, Style 2.

And I will do the same, for the third style.

Right, Object Styles, New Character Style.

Style 3.

Note that I created three styles that are different.

When I select each of them, I end up displaying the formatting of that style next door.

And now, you will see how it is useful for us.

I'll enter here, other sample texts.

Text 1.

Let me be more fast here, not hinder you.

Text Text 2 and 3.

Ready! Only for you to see how works in practice, the use of style.

Imagine you created a newsletter, a Book or magazine.

And in this magazine, you have the titles of materials.

Where obviously you wants to repeat the same style, whether the same formatting on all titles, all pages, All texts have to show a title.

So you create a style and you can apply this style to any of the text in your document by simply selecting this text and by double clicking on the style in question, here on the panel, in the docker styles.

So I'll give two clicks Style 1, and looks only what happens! Automatically received that text style 1.

If I give two clicks style 2, he will receive the same style, we have set up here in style 2.

If I click on Style 3, it will automatically apply the style 3 I have set up here.

Let's do this.

I'll put here, Style 1 in text 1, 2 in the text style 2 and style 3 in the text 3.

Remembering that these names I am giving here, it's all example.

You can use the name you want.

So, look what happens if suddenly I have a document 50 pages, and my client decides that it will change the design of the color scale.

Ah Liute, hey, I liked the blue, but hey, from now on, my brand will undergo a overhaul and I want this project to be all red.

So, how are you going to edit a material with 50 pages, just by changing the color of all titles to red? If you do not use, of course, the styles, it will give a damn job.

Now, look at the What happens when I have multiple copies of different documents may be different texts, so.

you understand.

So when I have separate text styles can be in same pages or on other pages, I'll put here on another page, you not say what I mean lie.

I will copy these guys and put back here.

I will put in different positions so you do not speak: Ah Liute, you are making a Mandingo there, you You are doing voodoo! No! Then, look at that! I have various styles, various text around the document and I need to change the color of my style.

Obviously I I prepared for this.

I formatted all my texts, both artistic as paragraphs, with text styles with character styles.

When I want to change this text style 1, to a different color, for example, ah I want red.

Look what happens to all texts for style! They change color together.

With except that here, I do not know why that changed.

Let me see here.

In fact, it is because, as it is a copy, he just does not come with the style I had created.

So let me put here outside, see if I'll be able to change them.

Now yes! Let me put them here, ready! Let me see if I can change now, this style.

Okay! Perfect! It is already running.

Then, look at that! Whenever I need to make any changes in my text style, either color, either way, whether the font family, is the style of this source, bold, italic, underline, anyway.

I can simply make the change using the Styles panel and this change will be reflected in all texts for this character style.

So I'll select here, nor need to select.

Here we edit the style 2, for a different source.

I'll put here, this Goudy Stout source, something like that.

Will decrease size here for 10.

I'll put the color here, one blue whiting.

A blue whiting not already have green there.

Let's put here for a little rose.

Okay?! And of course I want a formatting different.

I'll put it here with a double underline.

Look at that cool.

So all the changes I make that style automatically reflect all objects received this formatting.

So you can see the amount of possibilities.

Or rather, you can see how easily you will have in development projects that use large amounts of text.

What you can do When you create paragraph text blocks, for example.

I will create here, a paragraph of text block.

I will change here, this formatting 8 and put the text Placeholder here.

Just so we have here a basic configuration.

So look what I'll do.

I will open here, paragraph properties here text.

Text Properties is now open here, where is.

Ready! Okay?! And I will do the following: I'll change the offset Here the first row to 1.

Okay? No! Is very little right? Place here 5 mm.

So, the first line will be moved to the right.

Then I will format the text for Justified.

And I will increase the spacing, after the paragraph, to 150%.

150 not 200%.

Now, what do I do? I will use this I text to create a paragraph style.

Select the text.

Let me come back here, select it all.

Ready! Right, Object Styles, New Style, Paragraph.

Look that! I will leave here, Paragraph 1, and click on OK.

Ready! I created a paragraph style.

Now I'll create a document here, fictitious.

Where we will put several blocks of text.

I will insert here a placeholder text and I do, of course, this text span two pages.

Ready! Let me copy this text and paste it in the end.

What we have here? a paragraph that has no formatting.

I can simply select that paragraph, back in my little window of object styles and apply the paragraph style to that paragraph.

Look what happens.

The entire paragraph is formatted.

So I can apply this paragraph style to all paragraphs of my document, all paragraphs of my text.

And I can create multiple paragraph styles to be introduced in more several different points of my project.

Can I create a paragraph style to text run.

A paragraph style for citations.

A paragraph style for comments if you To use Web Design.

Anyway, you can create various styles of characters paragraphs, and Also, object styles as we will see later.

So if I need to make any change in this document, I can simply change this style, without the need obviously to redo all formatting that my material.

I will, for example, decrease here, my spacing to 150.

So look what It happens! Automatically, this change is reflected in my paragraph style.

Okay! That my paragraph now, it will have 10 mm of the first line offset, the indentation first line.

So look at that! It automatically will reflect.

I want 30! Ready! He, automatically will reflect this formatting.

Ah, now my paragraph style will be aligned to the left, rather than justified.

So he showed me how much it is important for your work? Especially if you work with publishing, with layout pages, with page layout, within CorelDRAW.

A lot of it you are seeing here is repeated in both the InDesign, Illustrator and in, and in Microsoft Word itself, Finally.

All text editing application or page layout, decent, use styles.

Be of text, either object.

In the case of Photoshop, for example, you have layer styles.

Then the styles, just serve to facilitate your work, store settings and formatting, so you can use them so much easy, in all his work.

We will see more ahead, in a year I'll spend a exercise for you, for us to work with what we learned so far.

Even, review for the staff who are very still.

We're already 1 year without classes.

So I will spend a year for us to work, for us to work this kind of concept and I will show you in practice, how it can be applied to a layout real project in a real design layout so that you understand even more, as the object styles work, the character styles, paragraph styles within the CorelDRAW.
