Advanced Photoshop Tutorial #6 – Professional Color Grading With A Gradient Map

Hi guys, Kevin here.

I’m going to show you a color grading technique which saved me a lot of time.

Before I knew about this I made all my gradients myself, Trying to find nice color combinations I could use for my projects.

This works great if you just want to see which color combo works the best and which doesn’t.

This is how the technique works: You start with making a new gradient map adjustments layer Then set the blending mode to soft light.

I mostly set the opacity around 15% but itdepends on what you’re going for.

Then select your adjustment layer like thisand click on the gradient bar here in the properties panel.

Then for the gradient type.

Instead of solid you want to change it to noise.

Then change the roughness to zero and uncheck restrict colors over here.

Now if you press the randomize button it will generate beautiful gradients for you.

Just press the randomize button until you’ve seen something you like.

it works also great on screen mode, just play around with it.

Thanks for watching guys!.
